In the book ‘No Sweat’, author Anthony Paul Mitchell, gives a personal account of being a child born with a rare genetic condition known as hypohydrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED). One of the symptoms of HED is not having sweat glands to regulate body temperature. Mitchell’s condition was compounded by the fact he grew up in Diboll, Texas where it was extremely humid. The uncomfortable environment left the youngster unable to enjoy the outside.
